Salt Therapy is a non-invasive, non-medical, side effect free therapy. Salt therapy has been used for relief for hundreds of years in eastern Europe and is registered as part of the medical system in both Russia and Romania.
To mimic a salt cave environment, the salt therapy rooms at Salts of the Earth are custom built with sealed, ventilated rooms. The walls and floors are covered with natural salt to keep the room sterile.
During sessions, machines grind up pharmaceutical salt to a fine dust that is then dispersed into the room for you to inhale. These rooms are then catered to the person's needs. Relax in our tranquil salt room whilst listening to ambient music with soft warm lighting, you can also bring along a book or mp3 player to enjoy during your salt therapy. You will be given shoe covers to keep the ground salt clean and it is advised to wear light coloured clothing as the fine salt particles maybe show up on dark clothing.
For the children, we have a room full of toys, TV and bean bags, where kids play not realizing they are receiving salt therapy.
Rooms are supplied with fresh air filters that capture and remove up to 99.97% of airborne particles that can have a negative effect on health. Surface areas in the salt therapy rooms are covered with natural sea salt which creates a sterilised and negative ion environment.
