While some clients report immediate improvement, most require a few sessions to experience relief.

It is important to understand that salt therapy is not an alternative therapy, but a complementary one. It can help relieve the symptoms of a condition and work in conjunction with existing medication, resulting in even greater relief. Results may vary between clients. It is always recommended clients discuss the use of salt therapy with their GP.

The natural anti inflammatory effect of salt, is it’s ability to draw fluid. When you breathe in sea air, it is already moist and has less of an anti inflammatory effect. When you breathe in dry salt aerosol in a salt room, the minute particles line your airways and draw out the fluid from the inflamed airway. This fluid, now mixed with the salt goes to work on cleaning the walls of the airways, resulting in the sufferer coughing up the congestion.

The halogenerator’s are programmed to automatically ventilate the room for 15 minutes after every session. The rooms are also dusted and wiped down with antibacterial wipes.

Clients suffering from contagious conditions are booked into our Private Room.

Clients with Cystic Fibrosis or compromised immune systems are also booked into our Private Room to prevent any cross contamination.

At Salts of the Earth we welcome people of all ages. All of our centres have a children’s salt room stocked with bean bags, toys, games, TV and a lot more. It’s fair to say that, in there, a lot of them receive the benefits of salt therapy without even realizing it!

Mothers can hold and comfort their babies in the specially designed Children’s Room and there are cosy places for babies to nest while benefiting from salt therapy.

Yes you can, however it is always recommended that pregnant women discuss the use of salt therapy with their GP.

It is recommended you wear comfortable clothing. We will provide you with a hair net and booties. Please keep long hair tied back.

As there are fine salt particles in the air we recommend putting phones and tablets in a clear plastic sleeve or bag to keep them free from salt that could damage your items.

If you have a skin condition on your arms or lower legs we recommend you wear clothing that exposes the affected area.

Sessions go for 45 minutes. Please arrive 5 minutes before each session starts to allow time to put on your booties and hairnet and to make yourself comfortable in our salt rooms.

During a session a halogenerator grinds up pharmaceutical grade salt into minute particles that become airborne when dispersed into one of our three salt rooms. The dry salt aerosol particles are then inhaled to help relieve inflammation and loosen congestion to allow easier and improved breathing as well as reducing the irritation caused by skin conditions all while relaxing on a massage reclining chair or playing in the kid’s room.
